Cayden Wynne of Lincoln Southwest High School, is a sophomore golfer who had a scoring average of 75.2 and scored earned 25 standings points for a team that earned its fourth trip in five years to the NJCAA National Tournament in Odessa, Texas.
Wynne is a business major and scored seven standings points in the fall season, including a four-point performance at Lamar when he finished in the top 10.
He came back with 18 points in the spring,
The freshman opened the spring shooting back-to-back rounds of 73 to place fifth in the Lamar meet and a week later scored eight points with a second-place finish at the Otero Junior College tournament April 1, which included a season-best first-round, three-under 67.
Wynn carded the best round of any golfer in the field in the Friday round of the NJC meet at Sterling, Colo., shooting a 68, vaulting him into a tie for fifth place.
As a high school senior, he won at Holmes Golf Course (74) and at Tara Hills Golf Course with a one-under par 34, as well as six top-10 finishes in USGA Nebraska events.
