MCC’s Jackson Bigge to continue pitching career at NAIA Dakota State

McCook Community College sophomore pitcher Jackson Bigge has signed a letter of intent to continue his baseball career at Dakota State, an NAIA school in Madison, S.D.

"I am glad it worked out for Jackson to get to Dakota State, it is a good fit for both sides," said MCC Coach Jon Olsen. "He tried to get up there a few times and with all our rescheduled games spring because of weather, he did finally get up there later in the spring."

  Bigge, 6-5 right-hander from Fort Collins, Colo. appeared in eight games this spring – all in relief. He pitched 7.2 innings, allowed two hits, walked 11 and struck out seven with a 4.70 ERA. For his career he went 1-0 with one save and 15 appearances, covering 17 innings, allowing 19 hits, walking 19 and striking out 22 hitters.

"Jackson has a good pitchers frame and good arm slot. When he was right this spring and in the zone, and when he gets his slider going, he is really tough on hitters," Olsen said. "Jackson has grown a lot in his time here and we are excited to see him succeed at Dakota State. We wish him the best of luck."

Dakota State went 36-18 this season and went 24- 4 in the North Star Conference and was the No. 2 seed in the postseason tournament behind Bellevue, the No. 5 ranked team in NAIA and lost in the post-season tournament.
