Indians complete four-game sweep over Dawson

The MCC baseball team swept their third straight home doubleheader this week and improved to 9-1 on the season, sweeping the four-game series with Dawson Community College. MCC won 21-1 in the first game Monday and held on for an 11-8 win in the second game.

The MCC baseball team opened the home schedule Sunday with a pair of wins over Dawson Community College. With game-time temperatures near 37 degrees for most of the day, the Indians won 10-5 and 10-0 (in five innings).
Northeastern JC tops MCC Men 84-66 in home finale

Northeastern Junior College buckled down defensively in the second half holding MCC to 29-second half points Saturday on the way to an 84-66 win in the Peter and Dolores Graff Events Center.

Trailing by two after the first quarter the Northeastern Junior College women outscored McCook Community College 42-21 over the second and third quarters and topped the Lady Indians 71-53 Saturday at the Peter and Dolores Graff Events Center.
MCC Softball splits games in Branson

The MCC softball split a pair of games Saturday in the Branson Turf’s Up Classic. MCC lost 5-4 to Northern Oklahoma-Enid 5-4 in the opening game and beat Southwestern Community College (Creston, Iowa) in six innings 12-3.
Lady Indians top No. 15 Crowder, Mo. State

In an early-season battle between a pair of top 15 ranked softball teams, No. 13 McCook Community College broke up a 1-1 tie against No. 15 Crowder College with an eight-run outburst to win 9-1 Friday in the opening game of the Branson Turf’s Up Classic. The Lady Indians also beat Missouri State University-West Plains in five innings 14-6.

The four game-series with Dawson Community College which was to begin on Saturday will now start Sunday with a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. at the Jaycees Sports Complex followed with two more games on Monday starting at noon.

MCC’s Djibril Diawara hit a 3-pointer with 21 seconds left in the game to break a 71-71 tie as the Indians downed North Platte Community College Wednesday 75-71. The win was MCC’s third straight in Region IX South play to start February.
