McCook Community College sophomore Ethan Badcock (Adelaide, Australia) has been selected as this week's Region IX pitcher of the week for Feb. 26-March 3.
The lefty appeared in two games over MCC's 2-2 weekend, and finished off both of the wins.
On Friday in the Indians' 9-8 win over Northeast Community College, Badcock entered the game in the sixth inning and pitched the final 1.2 innings of scoreless relief to pick up the win. He walked one and struck out one. On Sunday in Norfolk he came on in relief in the sixth inning with MCC leading 8-4. He pitched two innings, hit two batters, walked one and struck out two.
For the season, he's 1-0 with a save. He has struck out 15 hitters in 12.2 innings, allowed five hits and has a 4.97 ERA.
