MCC Baseball moves up Lamar Series to start Friday

The McCook Community College baseball team has moved up their schedule one day for the four-game series against Lamar Community College this weekend at the Jaycees Sports Complex.

To try and stay ahead of possible Sunday precipitation, doubleheaders are now set to start Friday and Saturday at 1 p.m.

This year, all doubleheaders between Region IX teams will start with a seven-inning game, followed by a nine-inning game. If the first game goes beyond seven innings, the second game becomes a seven-inning game.

This will be the first weekend of Region IX (Empire League) games. MCC is 5-13 on the season while the Runnin' Lopes are 10-16.

Other opening-series matchups this weekend included: Southeast CC at Otero, Luna at Western Nebraska and Trinidad State at Northeastern JC.
