MCC’s Aviv Bobrov gets region’s top Pitcher honor

McCook Community College freshman Ariv Bobrov has been named the Region IX pitcher of the week for March 10-16.

In his most recent start March 12 at Alva, Okla. against Northwestern Oklahoma State JV, Bobrov threw seven shutout innings allowing five singles, two walks and he struck out 11 hitters in MCC's 6-0 win.

Bobrov, the 5-5 right-hander from Shekhanya, Israel, has appeared in six games this season for the Indians, starting five with a 2-2 record and 31 strikeouts in 24 innings. After losing his first two starts of the season, he has won and completed his last two starts allowing two earned runs and nine hits in 12 innings while fanning 20 hitters and a compiling a 1.50 ERA.
