MCC’s Spencer Wishon to golf next year at Midland University

McCook Community College sophomore Spencer Wishon has signed on to golf next year at Midland University.

"Spencer has a high ceiling in his golf game, mainly based on how hard he works and how badly he wants it," said MCC Coach Tyler Loop.

Wishon, a Decatur Community (Kansas) High School graduate, golfed in five tournaments this fall with his low round of 74 coming at home Sept. 1 in the Region IX season-opening tournament at Heritage Hills. His best tournament score this fall came in the Eastern Wyoming meet Set. 15-16 when he had a two-day 155.

He finished the fall with a scoring average of 79.7

As a freshman, he played in 16 rounds and had a scoring average of 81.6. His best score last year came in April at the Northeastern Junior College tournament in Sterling, Colo. when he fired a second-round 73.

"I have no doubt he'll be a leader for Midland golf next year, they are lucky to have him," said Loop.
