MCC Softball moving up Saturday games to Friday

The McCook Community College softball team is altering the weekend schedule because of weather. Both Saturday games are postponed.

Those games are moved to Friday MCC hosting Western Nebraska in doubleheader starting at 10 a.m. That four-game series with Western Nebraska will conclude with a doubleheader Sunday at 1 p.m. That will be sophomore day with ceremonies beginning at noon.

MCC softball leads Region IX with an 18-8 record and Western Nebraska is tied for second place at 16-10, along with Trinidad State and Otero Junior College.

This weekend series will help decide who wins the regular season and that team will then host the Region IX post-season tournament. Trinidad State (16-10) hosts Northeastern Junior College (15-11) and still has a chance to top the standings and hold the season-long tie-breaker with MCC, winning three of five games head-to-head.
