MCC softball to play five-game series with Northeastern JC in Colorado

After the cancellation of the Region IX, seven-team, round-robin tournament to open the conference season at Lamar, Colo., March 2-4, the McCook Community College softball team was able to salvage the weekend by moving up a series with Northeastern Junior College.

The two teams will now play a five-game series starting tonight in Castle Rock, Colo., at 7 p.m. (MT).  They will follow up with doubleheaders Monday and Tuesday starting at noon (MT). These two teams were scheduled to play four games in McCook March 11-12 but moved up the schedule and make up for the game they missed in the round-robin.

NJC is 9-4 to start the season. MCC is 1-9 and because of weather and field conditions, has not been able to play a game since Feb. 18. All 10 of MCC's games have been played in Texas.
