Sadie Kahl is Region IX player of the week

McCook Community College sophomore Sadie Kahl has been named the Region IX Division 1 player of the week for March 17-23.

Kahl, the 5-11 right-handed pitcher/designated player from Notre Dame High School in Calgary, Alberta helped lead the Lady Indians to a weekend sweep over Luna Community College to take over sole possession first place in the standings. MCC is 8-0 in the region and 24-4 overall.

In the pitching circle she was 2-0 over the weekend leading MCC to blowout wins over Luna, 17-1 and 13-2. In 10 innings of work, she allowed two earned runs on seven hits, one walk and 16 strikeouts. At the plate she went three-for-seven with a double and three RBIs.

For the season she is 7-2 and leads all Region IX pitchers with her 2.60 ERA and third in strikeouts with 62. In region play she is 4-0 with four complete games allowing 14 hits in 22 innings with one walk and 23 strikeouts and a 1.27 ERA.
