MCC’s Bothwell receives second weekly defensive honor

For the second time this season, McCook Community College sophomore Cibeles Bothwell received Region IX South Defensive Player of the Week honors.

In addition to receiving the most recent honors in Week 8, the 5-5 libero from Spring, Texas also received the honor in Week 2, (Aug. 26-Sept. 1)

Through 25 matches, Bothwell has 449 digs to go along with 49 assists and 23 service aces. Those dig totals and digs per set (5.10) both lead all Region IX south players. She's also ninth in the nation in digs and 10th in digs per set.

For the week of Oct. 7-13, in three matches Bothwell had 52 digs in three matches and two service aces.
