Four McCook Community College softball players have been selected to the all-Region IX Division 1 team. Sophomore Madisyn Simms and freshmen Andie Suhai and Ella Covill-Marter were selected first team and Nevaeh Ogden received honorable mention.

The Region IX playoff game between McCook Community College and Northeastern Junior College was suspended because of weather Friday. MCC was leading 5-3 with two outs and nobody on base in the bottom of the fifth inning. The game will resume Saturday at 10 a.m. (MT) at the point of the Friday suspension.

It took 55 games, but on Monday, the McCook Community College softball team went over .500 for the first time on the regular-season finale, taking a 6-3 win over Western Nebraska. MCC will enter the Region IX Division I tournament Thursday as the No. 3 seed and it looks like the team will open play against Western Nebraska.
